It's Going Around!

So the Christmas pukes are going around. This is how it started at my house. Feel free to add your name to the list.
Aiden
Jacob
Kaedyn
Kaedyn's Uncle
Becca
Cooper
Addy
Matt
Soby-yes she even puked once
Aunt Amy
Kylie-I don't know if she got it from Matt or Tamara's friend.
Janiel/Jacob
Matts dad, and two brothers
My mom

Yes, I am happy to say that my name hasn't made the sick list. The great part about daycare is I am immune to everything. I hardly ever get sick-other than when I am pregnant. Knock on wood!
At one point almost ever kid in my daycare had the 24 hour flu. Just one bad day of puking and than your better. However cleaning up puke for two days (Aiden and Jake) grossed me and Matt out. Matt and Aiden did get a flu shot but I didn't. Weird huh. The only good part is that it is gone almost as quick as it comes. Hang in their Amy!

Santa

2007

2008

You can tell they loved it!

This years visit to Santa actually went better than I thought it would. Last year Jake screamed and was terrified of Santa. Then after he got down from his lap he was given a candy cane and he through it. He wanted nothing to do with Santa or the cute little elves helpers. This year he managed to hold on his candy cane and didn't cry. The pictures say the rest. I have put up all our decorations and I am surprised how well the kids are at leaving the decorations alone. While watching 7-8 kids everyday I thought it might be more than I could handle. I had one miss hap where Jake pulled on the lights above my fireplace and the whole line of garland, ordiments, stocking hooks, and pine cones came crashing down. Only a few ordiments were broken and one of the hooks did break but wasn't a big deal. Aiden pulled down one ornament and gave it to Soby and she must have thought it was a ball and went to town chewing on it-so that one was ruined. But other than that it has been good. I figured that with the amount of kids I watch something was bound to get broken-yet I still have the rest of the month. I did have the kids presents under the tree but I had to move them because the toddlers were trying to open them.

Aiden has been under the weather. He has had the nastiest nose. It is constantly slimy and when he sneezes it isn't pretty. He threw up a bunch of times tonight it just broke my heart because I couldn't do anything for him. I gave him some applesauce and that came right up. Yuck! Having the daycare in my home has made me such a healthy person. I am hardly ever sick. I guess being around the germs all day long, builds up my immune system. Matt on the other had is around the germs long enough to catch everything. I feel so bad for him. I hate it when he is sick. I am just crossing my fingers that none of us are sick for Christmas.

Last week Matt and his family celebrated my birthday by going to Chuckarama and seeing the lights on temple square. It was a lot of fun. We rode the tracks and Jake loved that. Matt bought me flowers and I will have to post them later. They look so cool. They look like it is windy. I don't know how to describe them. It was so nice to get out and not have to cook. It was also fun to be with Matts family.

Remember This?

When I was a kid we loved Mickey mouse. My mom would record them on a vcr and we would watch them over and over. I found some video clips off of youtube that really brought back memories from when I was little. The funny thing is Matt and I must have watched the same videos because he remembers all the ones that I watched. Let me know if you watched any of them. Some of them are long so this is something you have to do when you want to blow some time. Enjoy!

Dare Devil

View Blog

Now most parents would freak out if they saw their baby pulling off this stunt. Matt and I don't because this is Aiden's normal routine. Every time we put him in his high chair he wants out. I have straps but don't use them because he cries and screams and tries to wiggle out so it's not worth it. Needless to say he has only fallen about 2 times and once even managed to climb down all by himself. He must be following his dad and Jacobs steps because I am not a dare devil.
Yes I know his hair is getting long. I have trimmed his bangs but hesitate to cut it because he wont look like a baby anymore. I gotta hold on to my baby as long as I can:)

Before and After

The one nice thing about having your own house is that you can change anything that you want to. The one thing that I hated in my house was the color of my grout in my kitchen. It looked dirty even when it was clean, muti-colored, and dull. It seemed like every other month I was down on my hands and knees scrubbing it-yes it has been sealed.

Matt says that I was obsessed with trying to get it clean. I just wasn't happy with the results. Home Depot told me to chisil out all of the grout and start over again. Man would that be a tone of work! I did some researching online and found out that you can dye grout. So after a trip or two to the Home Depot and a lot of hard work I can finally say that I love it. When I got it done Matt said "Teresa please tell me you will stop after this" and I have. Vaylene has asked me to post it so here are some before and after pictures.

Battle Wounds

Yesterday Aiden had a mishap and landed himself in Primary children's hospital. I didn't see what happened because I was washing dishes. I heard him cry and found him by the fireplace. I am guessing he tripped and fell into the rock or climbed on top of it and fell. Any ways he got 4 stitches along his bottom lip. It knocked his top tooth loose but I think that it will be fine. Poor Matt spent 6 hours at the hospital mostly just waiting for them to stitch it closed. Aiden was a trooper until the doctor wiggled his tooth and then he threw his first tantrum. Matt says he kept taking his juice and hucked it accost the room. They had to sedate him and gave him a drug up his nose that made him loopy. He couldn't walk because of the drugs and that made him mad because he kept falling over.

He is doing really good today. He is back to his old self. Poor Baby!

Happy Halloween

Jake and Aiden had so much fun this Halloween. Jake was tigger and Aiden was a monster from the muppets. And I do have to add yes I did make Aidens costume. I acually made it for Jake but my plan backfired when Jake refused to put it on. Aiden didn't like wearing it eithtter but it was much easier to force it onto him than Jake.

Jake is picking up a few more words here and there. He still calls me by my first name. He won't call me or matt Mom or Dad. All day it Teresa Teresa Teresa. I hope Aiden doen't do the same. Having a daycare where all the kids call Teresa can have some disadvantage. He is almost three and he still isn't talking like I wish he would. I am thinking about getting him checked out because I really think that he should be saying more words by now. He basically talkes nonstop all day but it is in his own laungage. I pritty much know what he is saying because I have memorized his way of communicating.

So here is the scoop on Aiden:

I took Aiden in for his yearly shots and is weight has dropped from 25% into the negitive percentile. He is also short. His little fat rolls on his thights are just about gone and he is looking more like Jakes skinny legs. Oh well I guess thats what he gets for having skinny parents. He loves to get into everything. He really likes it when I tell him no. He cracks up and thinks its a game. His favorite thing to do is get into the t.v. cabinet and pull out the d.v.d's.

Jake is just about potty trained. He is still learning to master the poopen thing. I can't tell you how nice it is to change only one kids diapers.

Happy Birthday Aiden

So Aiden's birthday was a week ago. We celebrated it on two seperate days so both families could be there. Aiden got some great presents and loved playing with the dogs that his aunts brought. He loved his birthday cake and really didn't get too dirty.

So I can't believe we got this picture. This is Aunt Amy's new puppy. She was going crazy with Aiden and Jake. Then she picked up Aiden's binky and was running around the room with it. It was the funniest thing to see.

Babysitter

So I thought that this was funny. Aiden has already taken an interest to watching T.V. I have a dvd the kids call silly songs and he will plop himself down and watch it. I can hardly stand the dvd so its a real treat when I get it out. Aiden is walking really good now. He can almost walk across the room with out tipping over. He has beat Jake by walking a month earlier.

Sponge Bob

The other day the little 4 year old that I watch told me that Aiden looks like Sponge Bob Square Pants. I just about cryed. His two top teeth have finally popped out and he is much happer about that. As for the sleeping thing. . . well I have had it with him still wakin up 1-2 times in the morning so he and Jake have swaped bedrooms. I feel terrible about it but know that it is best for the both uf us. Aiden sleeps downstairs so if he cries I can still hear it but ignore it. Jake is sleeping next to our bedroom and loves it. Before I had to have Jake sleep in my bed for nap time becuase he has bit some kids in the past. Naughty Naughty! It was so hard to get him to take a nap it would wear me out. Now he just goes and gets in his bed and takes his nap. It is so nice. Aiden is getting close to walking. He can take one and a half steps and then he is down. It is so much fun to see him do this.

A couple of days ago I put Aiden in his crib for a nap. After his nap he woke up and started to cry. I was busy doing something so I let him cry for a couple of minutes. By then he was really screaming. When I opened the door I found him on the floor! I can not believe that he flipped himself over the bar. I never thought that he could do this. I immediatly lowered his crib a couple of notches. I guess I am writing this to all my friends and family who have a little one in a crib. Don't wait like I did.

Kayak Trip to Snake River

Well we are back from our trip on the Snake River. It was so much fun. The weather was perfect. I am proud to say that I was flipped 3 times by waves and rolled up each time. No swimming for Teresa. For those who don't know about kayaking we wear a skirt that is attached to our waste and is attached around the boat. That way no water can come in the boat. But when you get flipped underwater if you can't get your roll then you pull a cord and you are released from the boat. It is not fun to swim.

This is the first time that that has happened in big waves. I always try to roll up but when you are under freezing water upside down with water swirling violently around you it gets to your head and you just want to get out of the water. I also get confused my left and right side. (I can only roll one way up on my boat). So this time I was calm, took extra time to get my pattle just right and wa la. I came up. Everyone cheered! It felt so good. They were probly cheering because they didn't have to go rescue my gear.

Also it was also fun because I wasn't the only girl. Their was one more girl, a beginner. I am always the only girl that goes in our group. Yea for Girl Power!

My family was so kind to watch the kids while we were gone. They said that they were great. I wish they were good for me. I have noticed a difference in Aiden. His two top teeth finally popped through. He isn't as fussy and he is starting to take a bottle. YEA! He still wont take formula so I have to pump. It is really time consuming but I don't want to be attached to him forever.

Baby for sale: Free

This last week has been extremely hard for me. Aiden has become extremely clingy. He is teething and wants me to hold him all day. The second I put him down he cries and follows me around the house. Then once he finds me he pulls himself up on my legs and pouts. It doesn't matter where I am if I am not holding him he is one big ball baby. It really is getting to me. It is so bad that when Matt comes home he goes directly out to the garage to get away from it all. I will also add that I will never have another baby that will be breast feed only. I really want to cut back on the feedings and he is not a happy camper about that issue. It is also hard dealing with his fussiness and watching 7 other kids at the same time. He has also been waking up in the middle of the night and cries for over an hour. We are going kayaking for the weekend and my mom and sisters are going to watch the kids while we are gone. I really really need a break from Aiden.

Jake and his toilet training has gotten interesting. He has complete control over the issue and lets me know it. He has found interesting places to pee: the dogie dish, (in the indentation of the carpet the coffee table made, and his favorite place of all is off the deck). He is having problems with #2 but I just have to be patient. He also does better if he is butt naked from the waist down. Once I put on underwear he just pees in them. So for the past month he has been going around butt naked. He doesn't mind. And if I put a pull up on him or a diaper he pees. So for now we call him Moblee like on jungle book.

The pond

This picture is taken at the pond near our house. Matt and I threw sticks into the pond to have her fetch them. She loved every minute of it.

No More Dirty Diapers!

I am so proud of Jake. Jake just turned 2 and has been using the potty on his own. This is really exciting for me because boys are so much harder to potty train than girls. In fact many of my 3 and 4 year old boys who come to my daycare are still in diapers. The doctor told me to not even try until he turns 3 but I decided that it couldn't hurt. While having my daycare I have found out what works and what doesn't. Actually while I was typing this he started to cry and I found him outside with poop on his shoe. I just started about 5 days ago so I am sure their are going to be more accidents.

Aiden is still crawling and moving all over the place. He will finally take a bottle which makes me so happy. He has also been pulling on my heart strings at night so I am back where I started. I really need to start using some tough love.

Jacobish and HFMD

Sorry it has been so long since I have updated my blog. I will try to keep everybody up to date on what is new with us. Jacob has really started to talk in his special language we call Jacobish. He loves to jiberjaber in sentences. He has made his own words for certain items. For example his little toy truck and trailer is call "isis a swars". War War - water, Mom and dad is still called Teresa. Banana-nana, Apple-bable. He has said Aiden but only once. He also loves it when I push Aiden on the toy tractor and chase him. Aiden likes it too but not as much as Jake.

I think that Aiden got hand foot mouth disease from a kid in my daycare. He had some blisters on his but and I just thought it was from a diaper rash. One of the moms called me and said her son had it and it is very contagious. Latter that day one of the babies I watch broke out in blisters on his legs. So by time I found out it was to late and everyone in my daycare had been exposed to it. The symptoms are diarrhea, vomiting, fever, blisters on hands, butt, feet, mouth. Jake had the diarrhea and one night of vomiting but no blisters thank goodness. Their is no treatment. We have just had to wait it out. None of the older kids in my daycare got it just the little ones. So I am glad that this is almost over.

owners had but they did such a terrible job I really wanted to fix it. So I have been I am in the process of painting the inside of my house. I really liked the color the previousmuding small holes, dents, and all the imperfections that are in the drywall. I have also had to scrape paint off the kitchen cabinets. Yes they didn't bother to put up tape so it got all over the cabinets, the light fixtures, light switches you name it. Also their are places that they didn't paint that they should of. It is really frustrating that they did such a crappy job. So I bought some pant to match the previous color and the color is the same but the gloss is different, so it looks like I will be painting the entire upstairs. It is taking me forever. I only can do it when my daycare kids are sleeping or after they go home. Also I have been trying to clean our carpets. Vaylene has lent me her carpet cleaner and it has been so nice. It is amazing how much dirt it can pull up.

Comparison

So a lot of people have told me that Aiden looks just like me. Here is my baby picture I think taken when I was 6 months old. Aiden is 8 months old.

Big News

Click on picture to check out his hair style

So I have some great news for you all. Last night was the first night in ages that I was able to sleep through the night without any kids crying. No crying babies, and no getting up to do personal business!. It has been over two years or before Jake was born since this has happened. Jake was terrible at sleeping through the night. I don't know how many times I put him in the basement to do the "cry it out" thing. He would get the hint and then I would move his crib back upstairs when about two days later he would start crying for his bottle again. His room was right next to my room I always cave and just give him his bottle. Matt would say just leave him but I can't sleep through the crying. So then I would have to start over again because you have to be consistent.I hate being such a light sleeper. And then when I got pregnant with Aiden I was up at least once to use the bathroom.

So a couple of days ago I got mentally prepared for a hard night and I put him in a portable crib downstais in the laundry room. The first time he cried for about a hour. Then he woke up again about two hours later and cried for about 3o minutes. The next night he cried for about 30 minutes. And last night I didn't hear a peep. I feel so good. I am not tired and I have so much more energy. I just hope that he keeps sleeping and when I move him into his crib he doesn't do what Jake did and start crying again.

Today is Matt's Birthday. I just want to wish him a Happy Birthday and let him know that we love him so much. You are a great husband and a wonderful daddy. Thanks for all you do to take care of us.
Love Teresa, Jake and Aiden

Jake

Aiden has discovered that his binky isn't such a bad thing after all. I have been trying to get him to take it ever since he was born. But every time he spits it out. I decided to give it another try and wa la he kept it in. It is nice because it makes him quiet. He has a tendency to say mmmmm a lot and it drives me crazy.

As for Jacob he had a little accident. A couple days ago Jake wanted to be pushed on the swings. Matt was trying to mow the lawn and went to give him a great big push so that he could finish before it got dark. While this is all happening I had just gotton off the phone and decided to grab a jacket before I go out. I walk out the door and see Jake going "too high." As I yell at Matt "he's going too high" the next moment Jake is air born. Jake got a small cut above his eye and lost half his eyelashes. I am confused what took them out. The only thing I can think of is we applied some "new skin" to his cut and maybe he rubbed his eye and they pulled them out. Ouch!

Kayak Trip on San Rafael River

Last Saturday the kids spend the day at Vaylene and Jordans place so we could go with Matt's Uncle Charles and cousins (Quinn and Clarice) on a kayak trip down to the San Rafael river. We thought we would only be gone for the afternoon but the trip took much longer than we anticipated. We didn't get back to Provo until 1:00 a.m. The entire trip ended up being 17 miles of flat water! After the first 3 hours floating down the river I was getting worried because I didn't know if I was capable of patting the entire 17 mile stretch. And once you are on the river you can't just bail and get out. You are committed to the river because you are seriously in the middle of nowhere. I was very thankful that his cousin wanted to try kayaking so I was able to rest in the canoe the last half of the trip. Our boats are made for white water, so taking them on flat water took a lot of upper body work. The water was also very slow and very shallow. Our boats kept scrapping the bottom of the river on rocks, and it wasn't deep enough to roll (as if we would get flipped):) The deepest it got was about 2 feet. It was a beautiful nice day to be outside though and it was nice to have a break from the kids. As you can see from the pictures the cliffs were amazing.

Aiden has learned how to crawl. Actually its more like scooting but the same concept. A few weeks ago we were visiting Matts family and Aiden was lying on his belly. A few minutes went by and all of a sudden he was sitting. I couldn't figure out how he did that because I have never seen him sit on his own. Well I have discovered his little trick. Basically he get up on his toes and then scoots his little bootee underneath him. I think it is so cleaver. He has mastered the army crawl and basically can get to anywhere he wants. So poor mommy has to be on the look out. Aiden also has his first two bottom teeth. He has also said his first word. Ma Ma! I love it when he saids it. Mabey he will call me ma ma instead of Teresa. For those who don't know Jake calls me Teresa (my daycare kids call me that so Jake picked it up from them) and he calls Matt Ma Ma. I think it is very funny.

Jake is smiling!

It is really hard to get a picture of him smiling. This was taken at the Temple at Matt's brothers wedding. We took a lot of pictures that day and this is the only one that turned out good.

June 2006

I cant think of anything exciting to write about so I am going back two years when I lived with Tamara and Jarad.

Now that it is finally warming up and everyone is turning on their water, I thought that it would be fun to show you what happens in Herriman if you leave the water on for 6 hours.

Now many people might think that this picture has been photo shopped. I don't even have a clue to how that program works.

For those who don't know Matt and I lived with Tamara and Jarad for the summer two years ago. I can't remember why I had the hose on but I totally forgot about it. So I had Tamara climbed in to show you the full effect. Yes she is standing in the hole. When Jarad came home from work he thought I was planning on planting a tree:)

Notice that Matt is holding a shovel.

Thanks again to Jarad and Tamara for putting up with us for the summer.
