Happy Birthday Jacob

Jake turned 4 this March and to celebrate I through him a birthday party. I don't know how much he actually knows about birthdays because of the language barrier so I went with a Curious George theme because that has been his favorite thing since he was 2.

Jake was SO excited to see all his friends. I was really worried about having extra time and what I would do with them but it turns out that what they really wanted to do is play outside. Some of the activities were:

Paint on the wall like Curious George did
Paint a puppet with George's face
Pinata
Easter egg hunt (time eater)
Pin the yellow hat on George
Make a bracelet out of candy life savers
Duck duck goose: I had Matt be in charge of this and it was HALARIOUS to see him teach the kids this game. All the kids kept running away down the hall expecting someone to chase them around the house. He gave up!

I couldn't bring myself to spend $20 on a pinata so I made mine instead. I was very happy at how it turned out. I only spend $1.00 for the tissue paper and the cost of 2 balloons which I already had. Matt thinks that I should have just spent the $20 bucks because of all the time it took me. I told him "no way this is fun." I guess he doesn't enjoy the arts!

Don't count the toes.... he has 11!

I really injoyed seeing George get a good beating. He is such a naughty monkey in the t.v shows.

Well, judging by how much fun Max had at Jake's party it was a great success. The pinata turned out sooo cute! I agree he is a naughty little monkey. I'm amazed at how much patience the man with the yellow hat has with mischievous George.

It looks like a fun party!! I'm totally impressed that you made that pinata... and for a dollar? How did you know how to make it? Did you have a pattern? It looks just like George.
