Well he is getting closer that is. For those who don't know we have been letting Jake sleep in our room... on our floor...NOT IN OUR BED... for the past year. I know bad habit. It all started when Jake would point to the ceiling and say their was a "rarr" meaning monster up there. I guess I have a soft spot for monster phobias so I would let him sleep with us. I tried the squirt bottle thing where he squirts his monsters and say "die" but only think that reinforced his fears that the monsters were real. If we put him in his bed at night every single morning we would wake up to find Jake in our room. After a couple of nights in our room he refused to sleep at all in his room. He spent many nights sleeping on a daycare pad in the hall or in our room. I thought that remodeling his room would help. I changed the paint color, the molding, bought a new bunk bed, but that didn't help at all. I'm not sure what did the trick. Maybe its because he wants to be with his little brother? Or he has decided that the bed is more comfortable? Now when we put Jake to bed he sleeps next to Aiden and he doesn't freak out at all. Occasionally I wake up and he has made himself a little bed on our floor. I am glad that he is getting over being freaked out about a monster in our attic.
